Hello 2015!

Its been a long while since I last posted. Hello everyone and happy new year!

A new year, a renewed hope to make changes again. This includes to start running and cycling again, before I look like Baymax, and to blog again. Hopefully this post will start the ball, or blog, rolling again.

Life Passes By...

Knowingly, I stop blogging as I started a little project involving Lego (their bricks, not their company). Ever since I bought the Lego Collectible Minifigures in Dec 2011, I have been hooked and my Lego collection has ballooned.

But unknowingly, this little project has turned pretty massive and literally consumed all available waking hours I have after the boys sleep. And I'm not even half way through yet. 

And during the period, so much has happened. Dengue cases increasing with no end in sight, haze has come and gone (for now), (investment) markets going through crazy ups and downs, boys have grown and changed...

Since this crazy project of mine is gonna take up more time, I'm gonna pace myself now and not just focus intensively on it.

Last Saturday evening, Xavier and Lucas were playing among themselves in the living room. When we called the boys to the dining table for dinner, Xavier brought along the Duplo house he build above. He said this house is for Daddy and him and the police motorbike is for both of us to share. Moments like this melts your heart. Then when we asked what about Mummy and Lucas, he replied no space. LOL.

Hoping to blog more soon. Am also going to start exercising again to shred the fats. Life suddenly looks exciting again. 

The Will Of A Daddy Blogger Is Stronger

I have been lost, scattered to the wind, but I survived. And I'm back again.

So where have I been? If the above sentence sounds familiar to you, you would have probably guessed where I have been spending my nights.

Recently I had a disturbance within me, an anger that stirred inside me that grew suddenly and went out of control. It was toward Lucas. I just could not understand or handle this boy and he sticks to Lilian like elephant brand superglue. That drove me nuts.

I then stopped blogging totally. I confessed to Winston (Dear Xander) of this inner anger, this hatred for Lucas. I told him I do not see the point of blogging about something I hate (yes I used the word something). And so I stopped blogging.

I occupied my time with other new found activities, like buying a bike to cycle and get fit again and going back to what I enjoyed most before I had to give up due to the boys, gaming. Hardcore gaming. Bought a copy of Diablo 3 and burned my nights and sleep fighting monsters and demons. Addictive game.

Then today, I saw a Facebok post from Andy (Sengkangbabies) about a post by The Wacky Duo touching on daddy bloggers and my blog was mentioned. It sort of hit me in the head and made me think what was the main reason I started blogging as a daddy. It wasn't fame and definitely not money, but mainly to document and preserve the growth journey of my boys.

If I do not blog, we might lose that memory of their journey. Suddenly, there is this renewed purpose to blog again, to preserve the memories in words and photos.

What about my anger and hatred for Lucas? Well it has diminised over that period of blogging absense. Maybe because he becomes more responsive and fun, maybe because my gaming void was filled. Or maybe I just needed a break from blogging.

Blog Revamp - roamingglass 2.0

I been toying with the idea of doing a revamp to the blog layout. Main reason is that I'm posting more collarge photos so I wanted the collarge to be bigger. However, as the old layout was a very old template (think 2004), Blogger.com doesn't support it anymore and since I do not know html codes, I do not know how to adjust the width.

New Vs Old

So the next best thing is to use the new "Blogger Template Designer" and do up a new template since its very easy to customise most things. Above is my new layout vs my old layout. I thought it might take alot of time to do it so I have been putting it off. But after reading that Andy from Sengkangbabies did it in under 20 minutes, I decided to go for last night. Blog for pocket money?

After reading on Andy's blog about his first cheque from Nuffnang, I thought why not give Nuffnang a try too and see if I can get some pocket money for Xavier's milk powder and diaper. So please help me out by clicking on the Nuffnang ads.

Basically Nuffnang is a blog advertising community. You zone out certain space on your blog for them and they find advertisers to advertise at your space. I have put up two space for the ads, top header and on my sidebar. Still getting use to the header one and contemplating if I should take that one out and just leave the sidebar one. What do you think?
