My maiden attempt at blogging on food. Want to have something on record online so its easier for me to find in future.
Use to frequent the Wu Xiang stall at Jackson Centre until Jackson Centre was closed. Didn't know where they moved to till recently saw them being featured in Mediacorp's Where the Queue Starts 3. So to satisfy Lilian craving for good Wu Xiang, we decided to head down for an early dinner to avoid the crowd. Located at a coffeeshop just adjacent from the closed Jackson Centre. Incidently, the coffeeshop and the stall both bear the same name, Lau Zhong Zhong (didn't notice the name of the stall when it was at Jackson Centre, just know it was good). I love the chilli, I always ask for double chilli bowl. The wu xiang skin is very crispy and the abundent water chestnut within the filling give it a very crunchy feel. The other ingredients are also not too oily so you dun get the oily, bloated feeling after eating one too many.
At the same coffeeshop there is a noodle stall call Jackson Noodles Macpherson with many of those TV food show awards. As the Wu Xiang didn;t have bee hoon, Lilian was afraid we might not be full, so she ordered a Bah Chor Mee from the stall. Verdict? "Taste pretty good and has heaps of ingredient." coming from Lilian. I'm just not a noodle person.
Eric and Elsie was kind to pass me the Bumbo baby seat as Zachary can't fit in anymore. Too tired to try it yesterday night so today we decided to see if he is able to fit in. To our delight, he fit in just fine. In fact, he had those "Boss" or Chairman" look on his face while in it.
Yesterday was a busy day of photography class. I have signed up for the Basic Photography course from Objectifs. My class is taught by Terence Teo, a documentary photographer whose specialise in disaster events (like the Dec 04 Tsunami). The main objective of taking up the course was so that I can learn how to better photos, especially of my baby Xavier.
I have also been reading up on the local photo-enthusiast forum, Clubsnap. And one of the senior guys decided to "do a crazy thing" and "to give back to the community" by organising a series of workshop and talk on Canon system at absolutely no charges. I salute this man (he had to prepare his own presetation materials and source for free venue on his own). Anyway yesterday was the first talk in the morning.
So we had to wake Xavier up earlier than the Saturday usual, drive Lilian to Dr. Kek (for the 3 months check up) and then I rush to the class at 10am (without breakfast, only had a quick ice-milo before the class). After it ends at 12, goto meet Lilian and Xavier for lunch (at Lucky Chicken Rice at Lucky Plaza, one of our favourite hunt for Chicken Rice. Its located at level 2 of Lucky Plaza. Will post and do a write up on it next time), then rush to my Objectifs class at Liang Seah Street.
Man what a tiring Saturday. And its gonna be like that for the next 4 weeks. Will, hope i pick up good stuff on photography to make it worth while. This photography bug sounds similar to the Salsa bug I had in 2003/04. Was going for like 2-3 classes a week and dancing 5-6 days a week. Now that I think back, that was obsession...
Hello world! Finally decided to start a blog. Partly driven by the fact that I am getting old and (very) short term memory is a fact of life now.
This is actually my second attempt at blogging. You can visit my first blog here, though it has not been updated since I completed my renovation. If you do visit, you would probably see that its not really complete, as in I did not post the photos of my completed apartment. Well, you have my wife to blame.
You see, she was a little paranoid that if I were to upload and show the whole world how nicely renovated our first home is, thieves will come and steal things from our place. Well she has grown out of that thought and even laughed about it now. But sadly, my place is no longer in "showroom" condition, with all the baby stuff laying around.
